Accountancy......Many people even fear the name of this field because according to them ACCOUNTANCY is a very hectic field with papers, records, files and everything else!! But in reality accountancy is the life blood of a business; no business can survive without maintaining its accounts and records which is also required by law. Accountants are one of the most In-Demand professionals all around the world. Every company needs accountants for maintaining accounts, financial planning, managing finances and minimizing risks of fraud. Accountants are professionals who are trained to manage, analyze and interpret the accounts of a company. Accountancy is a very rewarding field accountants in most parts of the world are highly paid. U.A.E. is one of the biggest markets where new companies are being established and offices are being set up because of which there is a very big demand for accounting professionals and the pay scales are also high. Not only companies or businesses even the government needs accountants for maintaining the financial status of a country. Accountancy courses of some countries are very vast such as
Pakistan where there is a 6 year program which is very difficult and hard to complete. The program known as CA {Chartered Accountant} is a very vast program, it covers business communication, accounting, taxation, auditing, business ethics, business management and many other areas to, students also have to complete 4 years Internship in a registered Accountancy firm. Another popular accountancy certification is ACCA from England. ACCA stands for Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. This is a 3.5 year program and is quite popular nowadays. CPA {Certified Public Accountants} is also a popular program in America. The main focus of accountancy is how to maintain the records of a company in an effective manner which helps the company decide future budgets, company policy and other important things. Another duty of an accountant is to make sure that no one is able to do fraud by manipulating the accounts of a company.
Students when complete their accountancy certifications they have quite a few paths which they can take to achieve a successful career in accountancy. An accountant can either join an auditing firm such as Price Water Coppers, Earnest & Young, and Delloite etc. An accountant if doesn't want to join an auditing firm he can join any company to become an internal auditor, finance manager, accounts manager etc. The field of accountancy is very vast. I my self am a student of accounts. I choose accountancy after lots of research and came to the conclusion that if you have interest in accounts and business strategy planning then accountancy is the right profession for you.
If you think that you have some interest in accounts and the technical aspects of a business then accountancy is the field which you should consider to opt as a career, but please refer to some books before choosing this field because accounting is quite a theoretical as well as a practical field. You need to understand the concepts to apply them in real life but if you find these concepts difficult then accountancy is surely not the field for you. But according to me accountancy is a very easy to understand field if you work hard. You just have to understand some basic concepts anyways Best of luck!
